Corned Beef is a St. Patrick's Day Favorite! make your own corned beef to celebrate.
Corned Beef Recipe
3 lbs corned beef brisket
1 seasoning packet (included with corned beef)
6 medium red potatoes
4 chopped carrots
1 cabbage head, quartered
Placed corned beef in large pot and cover with water. Add the seasoning packet that was included with the corned beef.
Cover pot and bring water to a boil, then reduce to a simmer. Simmer for about 50 mins. per pound or until meat is tender. Add whole potatoes and carrots and cook until the vegetables are almost tender.
Add cabbage and cook for another 15 min. Remove meat and let stand for 15 mins. Place vegetables in a bowl, adding as much broth from the pot as desired, cover dish and keep hot.
Slice meat across the grain and serve with vegetables. Enjoy!
